Churchianity--An Insult To Christ
by Van Robison
The world of churches is at great
odds with the role model and teachings of Jesus
Christ. Churchianity has established itself as a great
idol in the lives of untold millions of believers in
God/Jesus Christ. Church empires have been around for
a long time and they are the focus of attention of the
priesthood (pastors and professional clergy), who
practice priestcraft upon their followers. The
absolute authority of life is Christ and it is He who
establishes the standard by which all life is to be
lived. It would seem overwhelmingly obvious, that God
by being God, is the infallible source who is to be
imitated, worshiped, obeyed and is the fountain of
life. There is no authority in life on earth that
supersedes or overrides Christ as being Shepherd and
Master. Neither is it possible to see Jesus Christ as
the GOOD SHEPHERD and hear His voice (John 10:11,27)
if anyone on earth takes the place of Christ in your
life (Matthew 23:8-10).
If a great herd of sheep were in a pasture and there were
thousands of shepherds in the field, how do the sheep know
who is their shepherd? If all the shepherds in the field
are calling to the sheep "follow me", which of the
shepherds will the sheep follow? In the world of churches,
there are innumerable voices proclaiming to be "shepherds",
causing the sheep to believe that they must follow men. The
church world is overrun with the customs and traditions of
men, and many common folks have a very difficult time
discerning truth. This is an obvious reality because the
church world is greatly divided into endless divisions,
with followers in all church categories.
Pastors and religious priests cause millions of human
beings to believe that "church" is the focus of life, and
that to obey God, life revolves around "going to church",
and yet in all the teachings of Jesus Christ, Jesus never
taught that "going to church" is the purpose of life. It is
true that Jesus Christ went into the synagogues, and as an
adult, His purpose was to fulfill that which was spoken
about the coming of the Messiah: "The Spirit of the Lord is
upon me, because He has anointed Me to preach the Gospel to
the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to
preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight
to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."
When Jesus Christ was an adult and entered into His
ministry, no doubt He never entered any synagogue to be
taught "truth" from the priests, elders, scribes or
religious leaders. On the other hand, He went into the
synagogues to take the truth, which was missing from the
four walls of the building. Today, should anyone take truth
into the church buildings, very likely they will be shown
the exit by the "bouncers" called "deacons", at the behest
of the chief executive of the church.
The single greatest reason for massive confusion in the
world of churches is because people are led to believe that
Christ is only understood and accessed through "pastors."
That is to say, seekers of God have the false belief that
their relationship with the Father/Jesus Christ is through
the ordained pastors and going to church. What ever
happened to the place of the Holy Spirit in the lives of
individuals? Have countless millions totally misunderstood
why the Holy Spirit is given to human beings? The reality
of life is that churchianity has replaced Jesus Christ and
the Holy Spirit, with customs and traditions of men, which
is what Jesus Christ came to set the captives free from in
the first place, among other things. Reading and comparing
all the teachings of Jesus Christ in the four Gospels, to
the practices, teachings, beliefs, customs and traditions
of the church world will result in a staggering difference,
between what Christ taught and the world of churchianity.
Churchianity is an insult to Christ and does not represent
who Christ is.
