Professional Pickpockets In The Pulpits

Jesus Christ is the absolute
standard of all human conduct and life. When
Jesus first began His earthly ministry, He
quoted a prophecy about Himself from the book of
Isaiah and we read at Luke 4:18, "The Spirit of
the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me
to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me
to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance
to the captives, and recovering of sight to the
blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised."
Also in Matthew 11:5, "...and the poor have the
gospel preached to them." Jesus told His
disciples when He sent them out, to preach "The
Kingdom of heaven is at hand" (Matthew 10:7).
And in the next verse (verse 8), He said
"...FREELY YOU HAVE RECEIVED, FREELY GIVE." It
would be obvious that as the disciples traveled
around and preached the Gospel of the Kingdom of
God, that someone had to feed these men and also
provide them shelter for the night's lodging.
But that aside, they still nevertheless at the
command of Jesus Christ, did not charge money to
convey Christ to others. If they had, it would
have been a betrayal of their commission from
