Did Jesus Give "Authority" To Pastors?
preacherby Van Robison

The term "pastor" was never used in the vocabulary of Jesus Christ--NOT ONCE! In the King James New Testament the singular term "pastor" is not to be found--NOT ONCE! The plural term "pastors" is found in the King James New Testament--ONLY ONCE! Oddly, the King James translators used the term "pastors" (plural) at Ephesians 4:11, while in all other instances the same Greek word was translated as "shepherd." Strong's Exhaustive Concordance for "pastors" is number 4166, which is the same number used for "shepherd" elsewhere and is the same, identical number 4166. Read more...

When The Sheep Go Marching In
by Van Robison

drumFor many years, like my fellow sheep, I went dutifully marching into the church buildings. As with my fellow sheep, we all nodded a big "bah bah" to everything the "pastor" said and did. Why We Left California
by Steve Duplantis

As you all know we have moved from California to Georgia. California proved way too expensive for us to live which played a role in our decision to move. We moved to California with the intention of helping New Hope Church grow and eventually moving into full time ministry. That never happened. Our experience there was nothing short of hell.

We were lied to and taken advantage of by the leadership of New Hope. Damita and I tried to resign and leave without revealing our true reasons in order to spare a friendship I thought was made between ourselves and the pastors. However, when I tendered my resignation, the pastor did not speak to us--he didn't even say goodbye. We were more or less treated like dirt. Read more...

Why Church Leaders Fear Independent House Groups
houseby Van Robison

There can hardly be any doubt that many institutional church leaders fear the independence of private house groups, that are not controlled by pastors. Pastors may love "cell" house groups, only because they are controlled by the churches, but private gatherings of "unchurched" believers cannot be controlled by professional clergy. Here are some of the excuses and reasons why institutional church pastors fear the independent private fellowships: Read more...
