The Rock House of Jesus Christ
by Van Robison
Jesus Christ is the Chief Cornerstone
of His Rock House. Without Him there would be no
building. In this case, the building is not made with
hands, but is a spiritual entity. Not only is Jesus
Christ the Foundation, but He is also the one and only
Head of His Rock House--the Body. All man-made
institutions are made of shifting sands, which is to
say that they will all eventually crumble. There is
nothing eternal or everlasting about man-conceived
organizations and institutions. Kingdoms rise and
kingdoms fall in the realm of human beings, but the
Kingdom of God is everlasting.
All who belong to Jesus Christ are living stones of the
Rock House of Jesus Christ. It is Christ Himself who places
each living stone in the Rock House where He wants each
placed. Each stone is beautiful, a marvel of the handiwork
of the Builder--Jesus Christ. Each living stone is
hand-picked, the rough edges chipped away, and the shape is
transformed, the living stone is polished, and made to
shine for the glory of the Father/Jesus Christ. Christ is
the Architect of the most beautiful and glorious Rock House
ever built. In this awesome and most spectacular Rock
House, the Father/Christ is the Light that shines forever.
There is no need of sun, moon, stars or electricity to
light this Rock House, because Jesus Christ is the Light,
more brilliant than the sun. The living stones of this
magnificent work of art will never fade, never have to be
replaced, and never be dull.
The Rock House that Jesus Christ is building will stand
strong for all eternity. His building will never wear away,
the cement will never crumble, the floors will never crack,
and His Rock House will be forever secure. In this
Christ-built Rock House, there will be no tears, nor
sorrow, nor crying, nor pain, and no more death (Revelation
21: 4-5), because the former things are passed away, and
God makes all things NEW. It is the only Rock House that
will be left standing when all others fade away into
oblivion.
