The Purpose Driven Unchurched
by Van Robison
Most ex-church goers are purpose
driven unchurched. They were driven out of various
churches because of spiritual abuse, or because they
came to the conclusion that something about church was
missing. In seeking answers and truth, many followers
of Jesus Christ have found that--hey--Jesus Christ
does not live in a box called "church." In fact
seekers of Jesus Christ have found that they can have
a relationship with Christ outside of church walls and
barriers. It has dawned upon many that the real
Shepherd and only Head of the Spiritual Body is Jesus
Christ and not pastors or churches. Countless
followers of Christ have come to the conclusion that
serving God is not something done as dictated by
denominations and church organizations. Many are using
their talents to glorify Jesus Christ outside of
Sunday and no longer "go to church".
Hearing the voice of Jesus Christ, the real Shepherd, is
what Jesus said His sheep do. He also said His sheep follow
Him. How have millions of people been sidetracked into
believing that brand name churches are the way and the
truth? Do you really think your super brand name church is
the light of the world? If you do--think twice, because
Jesus Christ never mentioned your brand in any of His
teachings in the four Gospels. You won't find the Baptist
Church mentioned by Jesus Christ, nor will you find First
Assembly of God Church mentioned either. For that matter,
you won't find that Jesus Christ promoted churches at all,
but rather He promoted the Father and Himself. Want solid
proof of this? Check out Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
While you're at it, you might even do a little research and
learn that the word "church" is not a word ever spoken by
Christ or anywhere in the original languages of the Bible.
It is a spurious term inserted by the "translators" of the
English language Bibles.
